Everything is Sales!
I'm not the only person to harp on this concept. Grant Cardone, Zig Ziglar and Tom Hopkins have all discussed it. If you don't believe that every part of your life is about sales, you are making your life infinitely harder than it needs to be.
In fact, last year Mom and I did an interview with Tom Hopkins on our Black Belt Selling podcast (you can find it at https://soundcloud.com/anna-scheller-816447964) and Mom even discussed how she's begun using the sales techniques she teaches while arguing with Dad and finding that they can find the win-win situation more often than not.
Because that's all that sales is. It's about finding the win-win result in any situation. Finding out what you need and what someone else needs, and making sure you both get what you want. So if you want your kids to eat their broccoli, your first step should be to find out what they want and need, and show them how eating their broccoli will lead to that. Ditto for getting your spouse to make dinner or do the dishes, and also for convincing a prospect to become your client.
That's the coolest part about being in sales. Every technique I learn, every class I take shows me how to better craft the life I want for myself. That's why I constantly focus on learning and growing in my field. That's why I believe that every person should be reading and growing as a sales person.
